Age/General Information
The Little Lion Youth Wrestling program provides elementary age children with the opportunity to participate in the challenging sport of wrestling. Coaches provide basic skills and fun workouts for the beginner wrestler while providing advanced wrestling technique and high endurance conditioning to the experienced wrestler. The program is designed for all children grades 1st to 6th. Children 6 and under are welcome with parental supervision.
Practice Location/Schedule
Practices are held at the Fairmount Elementary School (Fairmount Ave/Fraser St) on Mondays and Thursdays from 6:00 - 7:30 PM. Practices begin mid-November and continue through until late February.
Equipment Exchange
The program holds an equipment exchange during the “Back to Wrestling Night.” Bring your used shoes and headgear for other wrestlers to utilize during the season.
Registration
| Registration is held in October, but it is never too late to join! Just complete a registration form and submit it. Make checks payable to: “Little Lion Youth Wrestling”.
Scholarships available for needing families.
Your child will receive a wrestling 'uniform' (a t-shirt & shorts), which he/she will keep, and the use of a wrestling singlet, which will need to be returned at the end of the season. |
Program Fundraisers
Our tournament and scrimmage concessions are our largest fundraiser. We ask that each family try to donate one or two items, as well as some of their time in helping setup and run these events. When we get donations from the parents, this eliminates the need for us to have a mandatory fundraiser. Sign-ups for concessions will be announced on the home page.
